For this project we had to take and edit a set of pictures that told us a story. Well my photo theme or story is the mini adventures to your local park. I took a trip to Sawgrass Lake Park and tried to
Street Photography
For our Street Photography project, we were tasked to take candid photos of people in their natural state. Four of the pictures I chose were during my JROTC class and our field day. The middle picture was taken in Savannah, Georgia of people getting off of a tour bus.My least favorite part of the project was trying to capture the "decisive" moment. My favorite part was going through my picture and choosing which I liked best.
With Fill Flash,I had to get five different pictures of five different people. The equipment we brought out were the camera, tripod, and the portable flash studio. My favorite part of the assignment was editing the photos. My least favorite part was setting up the flash studio.
Multiple Exposure
In Multi Exposure, I had to take multiple photos without moving the camera. The equipment i used was a tripod and a camera. I use mt friend and had him walk to the hallway upstairs between buildings 4 and 5. I created masks of three photos of his body and fitted them onto the original photo. My favorite part of this project was trying to figure out what positions and poses to have him do. My least favorite part was creating the mask layers to fix the exposure and the color balance.
Contact Sheet
For our contact sheet, we were tasked to go out and get at least fifty pictures of a certain theme or scenery and then chose twenty of our best. My biggest obstacle was learning how to use Lightroom. My favorite part of the assignment was getting out of the house and walking around at night.
In this project, I got to learn how to set up a portable studio and a flash stand. I used three different people and edited their backgrounds to be different and unique. My favorite part of this project was learning how to set up and sinc the flash to the camera. My least favorite part was trying to take the pictures without getting a shadow behind them.
This is Natural Lighting Portraits. I chose five people where the sunlight hit the different angles of their faces. The most difficult part of this assignment was looking for where the sun hit them most. My favorite part was figuring out a way to define the unique features with the light from the sun.
For our composition project, we had to choose four techniques of photography and include one out of the four in each photo. I chose Diagonals, View Point, Framing, and Rule of thirds. I chose these four because I usually never incorporate these techniques whenever I take photos. In my diagonals piece, I used the shadow from the railing to create perpendicular lines with the stairs. In framing, I used the bookshelf and some of the books to carve out my friends face. In view point, i climbed the stairs and onto the balcony and took the picture as if i was a hawk looking down onto the ground. And lastly, in rule of thirds, my main focus was the mailbox with the neighborhood as the background.
In this assignment, we had to choose two fast shutter and two long exposure images. The shutter speed controls whether or not the movement stops or blurs. The fast shutter is when the movement of an action is stopped and the long exposure is when the movement of an object is blurred.
For our depth of field assignment, we had to choose two deep and two shallow photos and one of our choice. A deep depth of field is a photo that has the foreground in focus and the background blurred. A shallow depth of field shows the entire photo in focus.
